Dear Raj,
Thank you for your reply and I'm glad to be of assistance.
As mentioned in my previous email, we are not saying you cannot upgrade to Windows 10. You will be able to upgrade but it is not from VLSC portal. The upgrade platform is Windows update (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-upgrade).
This is the free upgrade which is offered to all Microsoft customers who are currently using Qualified Windows 7/8/8.1 users.
I hope I was able to address your enquiry to your satisfaction. Please feel free to contact us should you require further assistance.

Thank you for your continued support towards Microsoft products and services.

Dear Mr. Ameer Shahzman,

Thanks for your reply and the attached document, This document clearly says that what ever we are understanding is correct.

This is our understanding it is clearly stated on Microsoft policies on website that any customer having Legal License of Windows 7/8 or 8.1 (Except Enterprise Edition) is eligible for Free Upgrade  to Windows 10 (Volume Licenses , Active or Expire etc. are not eligible is not mentioned any where. ) Means if any Customer is having Windows 7/8/8.1 Pro. legal license is eligible for Free Upgrade to Windows 10 till one year from July 2015, irrespective of SA is there with license or not or active or expired.

Kindly provide the link of the document where this exclusion is mentioned that Volume License holder without SA are not eligible for Free upgrade.

Hi Raj,

Thank you for your reply and I'm glad to be of assistance.

Based on your recent email, I believe there has been a misinterpretation. Please be informed that upgrade via VLSC is only available for active Software Assurance customer. However that does not mean you will not be able to upgrade to Windows 10 using a different platform.

As for customers without active Software Assurance they would either need to purchase Windows 10 Pro upgrade licenses within VL or use Windows Update portal to upgrade to Windows 10 (retail version).

I have attached the PDF documentation with those information for your perusal.

Please feel free to revert back to me for further enquiries.

Raj, please be informed that for Volume Licensing, only Agreement with active Software Assurance will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 and get the product key via VLSC portal.

Therefore, if you did not purchase Software Assurance along with the licenses then you are not able to upgrade to Windows 10. You will not be able to download Windows 10 in VLSC portal and even get the product key for activation.

Please feel free to contact us if you may need further assistance in relations to Volume Licensing and I will be glad to help.

Subject : Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. Volume licenses for that we are not able to find the key on the Volume Licensing Service Center.

Dear Sir/Madam,
We are thankful to the Microsoft who recently launches a very good, user friendly and stable O/S Windows 10. Everyone is very happy as Microsoft announced to provide FREE upgrade till one year for all legal users of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
We are having some Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. Volume licenses for that we are not able to find the key on the Volume Licensing Service Center.  On some of our licenses have "Software Assurance Pack" in "Active" stage and on some it's expire.
Kindly look into the matter and suggest us how we can get new key for Windows 10 upgrade.
With Best Regards
Raj Kumar Sharma
